Shettles Method
1. Determine the mother's ovulation date. According to the Shettles Method having sex as close to ovulation increases the chances of having a boy.
To determine your ovulation date:
Observe the cervical mucus each day. Right before ovulation, the mucus should be elastic and watery, similar a raw egg white.
Take your temperature each morning before you get out of bed. Just after ovulation, your temperature will rise. You have to sex as close to ovulation as possible
Use an ovulation predictor kit available at major pharmacies.
2. To maximize his sperm count. The Shettles Method recommends that a father should avoid intercourse for about 3-5 days before ovulation. Keep the testes cool. Avoid tight-fitting underwear, hot baths, and running laptops. Don't smoke or drink. Don't take illegal sexual drugs.
3. Have intercourse as close to ovulation as possible.
4. The Shettles Method advises using sexual positions of deep penetration, such as a rear-entry position to conceive male baby.
5. According to the Shettles method, decrease the acidity inside the vagina. This makes the environment favorable to male sperm.
